Gay, bisexual and other men (ages 18 and older) who have sex with men and have had multiple or anonymous sex partners in the last 14 days are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Vaccination is free and available regardless of immigration status.

You should especially consider getting vaccinated if:

Your partners are showing symptoms of monkeypox, such as a rash or sores.

You met recent partners through online applications or social media platforms (such as Grinder, Tinder or Scruff), or at clubs, raves, sex parties, saunas or other large gatherings.

It was just three weeks ago when they were telling us to wear masks to protect us from monkeypox… seems like some other basic info (maybe don’t have random gay sex, especially with men with sores or rashes) would have been more relevant. My concern about falling victim to monkeypox is now slightly above “murder hornets” and on par with having a grand piano snap a rope and fall on top of me.

Firstly, as long as it’s between consenting adults, I don’t give a rat’s hairy hind end what people do between the sheets.

Secondly, we don’t know that what’s being seen is in fact monkeypox.

Thirdly, we don’t know if what is being seen is in fact spread by sexual contact.

That all said, I do agree that people who are ill with a communicable disease shouldn’t be doing the horizontal mambo with anyone if that activity can spread it.

But that applies to people of every sexual orientation, not just gays.
