LOL, thanks for all of the replies.
One of my sisters’ high school boyfriends is a friend on my Facebook. He says that is my dad’s old Moto Guzzi from the early 70’s but he can’t explain the redhead. :-)
We have been searching for the picture of my great-grandmother with her old Harley, and none of my sisters or I are motorcycle experts, so at first we thought this was it, especially since my grandmother and I both have/had the same hair color of this woman. We didn’t stop to realize that this picture wasn’t old enough to be her.
We are coming up with more questions than answers in this search.
I was able to find two pictures of my great-grandfather that talked to me about the Civil War. I also found my dads genealogy book that he did so much work on before Internet. He managed to trace one branch of our family tree back to Welsh royalty. He never found the Scottish ancestors but I did. We are Scottish/Welsh/Irish/Dane. I’m using his work, plus my work, that includes DNA searching to trace it all back as far as I can go. The Scottish part goes back to the 12th century. He found our original ancestor that came here in the 1700’s during the Scottish clearances. He was born in 1725 and died in America in 1811.
I also found an old book of chronological history from the early 1600’s through the Civil War. I’m trying to read it now.
My dad was a history packrat! I was sick last night with allergies from reading 100 to 200 year old papers.
I know this is boring to most, but I really get into the old ancestry, especially when I have so much original reading material and pictures to guide me. My family has always been big on preserving actual history.
