We ran into a very dangerous invasive yesterday.

It’s wild parsnip. The sap can cause severe burns when skin is exposed to sunlight after contact. It’s about ready to bloom here in NH.

Here are some links to help identify it and control it. Fortunately, it seems to be one of the easier to eradicate invasives.

Ours aren’t up yet, but very soon. I’ve seen the burns that some people get from them. Bad, scarring burns you’ll have for LIFE! Ugh!

Right now we have Giant Hog Weed all along the roads, where they haven’t mowed. It’s quite stately and pretty, but also a PITA. Also toxic, will also burn you and is also invasive.

‘Heracleum mantegazzianum’ If you know your Latin, you can just imagine how HUGE this stuff is!
