Bartoli was what my Dad always bought and me too.

Years ago we were in Alabama visiting Beau’s Mom. She wanted to ‘Go Junkin’’ so we hit a bunch of thrift stores and this big warehouse that had great deals on foodstuffs.
I scored a HUGE bottle of Bertolli (I spelled it wrong in the other post) that was close to a liter, for an insanely low price.
That was probably one of my best ‘scores’ to date, LOL! It takes so little to make me happy. ;)

Oops Bertoli. Your salad sounds yummy. Nothing sounds like summer more than a steak and salad from the garden. We have been eating a lot of romaine. We have a lot too. I have about 15 of these gallon plastic jugs. Cut off the bottom and a lot of the top. I plane my lettuce seedlings and then put one of these over. You almost have to screw it into the dirt and it will stay put for sure. Beautifully shaped romaine heads and no bunny temptations. Although we gave not seen a single one this year, nor any groundhogs since we dispatched a few this spring. I also have 2 patio planters filled with younger seedlings and every time I pull a mature head I replace it.
