I have always associated Revlon with cheap dime store makeup, same with Maybeline. And while I’m not proud of it, I’m a bit of a Diva when it comes to my self-care and cosmetics.
I splurge on higher end, longer lasting brands. Revlon always seemed sort of cruddy and cheap.
But honestly, I hate makeup — although I have to wear it for my job. Now that its summer and I’m outside most of the time, sweating in the Florida heat and walking my dogs, swimming, hiking — my skin has never looked better.
I really hate makeup.
Less is more.
You skin needs to ‘breathe’.
A minimum of makeup can go a long way.
A ‘touch’ of eyeshadow.
A dab of foundation for blemishes.
And lipstick / lip gloss is not necessary, ever........................
Oh, trust me — I learned about makeup from my Dad of all people. The Less is more theory is in place. A woman should wear her makeup, not the other way around. Thankfully, I look about twenty years younger than I am (good genes from my Mom.) I just use it to look professional. When I’m “off” I don’t touch the stuff.
I hate wearing the mask. I try to walk six miles a day, and in this florida heat — my skin is blemish free right now.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
That little baby just stole my heart!!! THE BEST was when she wiped half of her lipstick off, then had that “OH NO!” look.
Then... tilted her head to the side and let the spit slide...
Being a Girl Mom (she’s 19 now and amazing) is actually the greatest thing (although, I’m a Tom Boy and was terrified I’d mess things up.) Thankfully, she barely touches makeup, hates how it feels on her face, but knows how to put it on correctly.
The other thing — she knows how to dress too. Like me, she’s a five footer... ALTHOUGH... she didn’t inherit my figure (I’m Mary Lou Retton, if you remember her, only with bigger shoulders and arms, and smaller hips. My daughter? Betty Boop.)
She works at a high end clothing store and eschews the sleaze for elegant and modest. It’s very refreshing. My husband and I are very proud of her.
Mary Lou Retton...... I saw her on a TV show a while back, DWTS, she’s middle aged now. .......................
Yep, so am I. Age happens to everyone. Unless they die young.
