I'm in my early 30's and I don't know anyone who sees an ad and thinks "I've got to have that product!". We mostly have AdBlock. If blocking ads isn't possible we mostly just open a new tab and surf social media while it's playing. Because nobody likes ads.
I didn't marry an Asian man because the TV told me to. Indeed there are very few AM/WW couples on TV. I married him because he fit the profile of what I was looking for in a man: sober, no criminal record, intelligent, slender waistline, not whining about how unfair the world is to him, and no hostility towards white women simply for being white women (just check out some of the comments on this thread).
