“At one point, the pastor demanded that the couple not communicate with each other for 30 days, Hagans said. When they decided to keep dating, the decision fractured the relationship between Hannah Ford and her father.
“We jumped through all of his hoops to be together,” Hagans previously told The Post.”
What the heck is wrong with the dad????
Sheesh
My approval or disapproval is not a concern.
In this case, I would think that the loss of his daughter would be enough for the father to let go of anger. The only memory I would want for my lost child is for the love for her would endure.
As for the planter itself, I'm not sure if I would want that on my daughter's grave, but I would speak directly to the person who put it there. Perhaps he did.
Must be an Alabama thing (full disclosure: I live here).
In 1921, a Methodist Episcopal Minister (and Klan member), E.R. Stephenson, had an adult daughter that converted to Catholicism and married a Puerto Rican.
Rev. Stephenson celebrated his daughter's wedding by going to the Catholic church a few hours later and killing the priest that performed the ceremony.
That’s actually sound advice when there is a question over the wisdom of a pending marriage.
Voluntarily though.
The son of a friend, whom I had a minor mentoring relationship with in the past got married recently. Many believed it unwise.
I attempted to speak with him but he refused.
A 30 day separation was exactly the advice I wash ping to offer. If they can’t live without each other, get married.
