No one would work minimum wage jobs if they were not subsidized by government. The profits of Walmart and other corporations come largely from the fact there workforce is subsidized by the welfare state. Companies should be paying their own workforces not pocketing profits that only exist from the fact their employees are being supported by the taxpayers.
Who actually benefits from this? This is something I think the left and right should agree on. The left hates billionaire corporations and the right hates the welfare state and wasteful spending. Subsidizing Walmart workers costs the US taxpayers about 8 billion dollars a year, while the Walmart profit is 13 billion.
I’m not sure the exact solution but it is ridiculous that taxpayers are subsidizing the workforce of a large corporation while the government is running massive deficits and there are homeless disabled vets on the streets. Those jobs and workers only can exist due to government subsidies.
This is corporate socialism in action.
I thought I did when I posted it originally, unsure if I linked it in the wrong place or what but I’m not able to Edit the original post now. Here are sources.

This isn’t a free market and is artificially depressing wages. What is the motivation for a worker earning 9$ an hour to make any attempts to earn a higher wage when they are getting the equivalent of 10-15$ an hour in housing, SNAP and healthcare benefits that they will lose if their wage increases.
On the flip side what benefit is there for a corporation to pay 20$ an hour instead of 10$ an hour if the government will subsidize their workforce with benefits that amount to 10$ an hour( minus 1$ an hour for every dollar over 10$ an hour they make)

“Cartoony figures” like percentage of full time employees enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP and other public assistance and cost to the taxpayer.
I use publicly available data and facts to form the premise instead of nonsense feel good buzzwords that cater to the lowest common denominator that apparently you prefer.
“It doesn’t matter what I write if someone lacks the critical thinking skills and intelligence to either comprehend or dispute the premise.”
I disputed your stupid premise in my first comment.
Well not just irrelevant, but also having nothing to do with FedGov per the Constitution!
No you didnâÂÂt, either all welfare for workers needs to be removed or at least not create this system were there is no motivation for workers or corporations to pay more than the amount that makes you eligible for the most welfare.
ItâÂÂs not a coincidence that the percentage of workers relying on government assistance is at a record high.
“No you didnâÂÂt,”
Yeah, pretty sure I did.
“So this evil company pays twice the minimum wage and will pay for you to better yourself.”
Type more and harder next time.
