They are buried with a large ‘bag’ which is a sacrificial anode.

Do these type of tanks have a set number of years during which they're considered safe? Does some regulatory agency have to certify them every so often?

Those sacrificial anodes are AWESOME 🤪
I’ve got 2, and they’re solid magnesium and I can sawzall pieces off, save dust for fire starter and make a SUN with the chunk! 🤣🤣

It’s a great question that I have no answer for.

Regulatory agency? It why I live in Montana, less regulations.
