The Gospel writers were well schooled in Greek.
The Holy Spirit inspired them to use the word meaning “locusts” (or “lobsters”).
They did not use the words that meant “seeds of the Carob tree”.
Research when the use of “Locust Tree” supplanted the use of the Latin ‘Carob’.
Hordes of destructive locusts were the result of massive population explosions of the resident locusts that were always around.
Your plea to “many and new” interpretations is simply revisionist history in itself and actually violates Scripture to imply it.
The Word of God is inspired and inerrant.
Writers of The Chosen evidently agreed.
(perhaps raw ones tasted better with wild honey?)
Okay, got it, bugs.
