George Soros-backed candidate ousts Cumberland County’s prosecutor

Kennebec County prosecutor Jackie Sartoris defeated incumbent Cumberland County District Attorney Jonathan Sahrbeck in a Democratic primary on Tuesday that ensures she will assume the seat in the November election.
Sartoris had 63.9 percent of votes, compared with 36.1 percent for Sahrbeck, who conceded the race through a spokesperson at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. No Republican or independent candidate ran in the race, ensuring Sartoris will be uncontested in the November election.
“If the voters elect me in November, I am prepared for the hard work ahead, and look forward to securing the common sense and pragmatic policies that reflect the values of our [county] and deliver the criminal justice reforms we promised in this campaign,” she said in a statement.
Sartoris benefited from a wave of spending from Democratic megadonor George Soros, who has been running a national campaign to elect progressive prosecutors across the country. A group started by Soros’ network spent $440,000 in a bid to oust Sahrbeck, more than all the money spent in every Maine district attorney race from 2012 through 2020.
The candidates’ biggest differences were in how they approached the role. Sahrbeck said the top prosecutors should engage with the community directly about issues that can land people in jail, while Sartoris said the role should be focused on policy and how to prosecute people. Both said the state should close its only youth prison at a Maine Youth Justice forum in June.....

I’m not for any type of general mail-in ballots. ONLY Absentee ballots that are requested by a specific person for a specific reason (i.e. you’ll be out of the area on voting day, etc.), and that are signed and dated on the serialized ballot itself and on the outside of the generic (non-party-specific) serialized envelope.
With all it’s vaunted equipment, checks still get lost in the mail, we still find boxes of mail dumped in dumpsters, and there are usually reports around election time of mailpersons removing Republican votes and processing only Democrat votes (not so much vice versa) (where the ballots can be identified as such).
In my opinion, the USPS has proven itself untrustworthy to handle massive amounts of mail-in ballots.
Trump demanding anything at this point kind of looks like a marker for litigation, future courtroom behavior, even a message for, eventually, as Cletus alluded, the vaunted US SC test on Constitutional Law.
Or, Not.
Everything is likely winding to Justice Roberts Court.

What Walker actually said:

The headline is misleading and displays the contempt the media have for him.

I tuned in to the J6 Kangaroo Kommittee out of curiosity. Judge Luttig is as dynamic as drying paint. The highly scripted and produced hearing is a joke. No wonder they delayed the show...it took a lot of video editing to surgically remove exculpatory evidence.
What we DO know is the lying liar was supposed to answer for his decisions (crimes) involving Covid today at the behest of Rand Paul. I’d suddenly get sick too.
Still, if they are going to have it, then it should be handled by Mail Personnel, not these randomly placed receptacles. In 2020 we received mail in ballots in my house. Nobody requested them. This entire system is completely ripe for fraud. It should be outlawed. If you cannot make it to the polls with an ID then tough titty, you don't vote. I am fine with that.
Incidentally, in my job as a Health Care Worker, it is often literally impossible to vote. My precinct is only a few hundred yards from my home, but my work required me to be there from 07:00-19:30. Voting was not possible with the 8-8 hours in this State. C’est la vie.

That title is a but a rather misleading fragment of the whole perilous story. Certainly, a critical care perspective on, “The End will not be for everyone.”
X22 has been largely too “blue sky” for my own taste, but if he’s affected by this tale, it will be interesting how his cheery themes may alter going forward.
