Joanna Jones, 39, was flying to London from Antigua when her 14-year-old daughter Poppy needed oxygen and two EpiPen shots during the nightmare eight-hour flight after suffering a severe reaction to the nuts.
As Poppy's condition worsened, a quick-thinking nurse on board dashed to help - while the captain considered making an emergency landing.
Eventually the pilot landed the plane safely at Gatwick and Poppy was rushed to hospital.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Joanna said: ’It was a nightmare for all of us and I really thought she might die.

Some think the vaccines have proteins in them that will cause reactions to the typical proteins that cause anaphylactic allergies. There are dozens of vaccines now given to infants who don’t actually have immune systems yet. Too many, too soon.
My thoughts as well. It's all a big drama show, especially from the mother. This smacks of "Munchausen syndrome by proxy."
Desensitization therapy is only possible with in a specific immune response range. Not everyone is a candidate, anyone having anaphylaxis is usually never going to be able to outgrow an allergy.
This stuff has to be from all the chemicals in the fake food we feed children. In the 70s and 80s I never he I never heard of extreme food allergies though I am sure they existed but were rare. Ashma was very uncommon. At every school there was always the fat kid (singular), whereas now there is the skinny kid. After all the vaccines I will be willing to bet that 10 years from now there will be a whole kaleidoscope of new and improved maladies that will be increasingly common that today are rare or unheard of.
Baloney. That person has no business on a plane or out in a city. The whole world can’t adjust to her. She has to bend to us. Just like covid... the whole world had to stay home because of grandma. The answer was grandma needed to take extra precautions.
> the parent should know that and not unduly expose their child to dangerous situations <
If the daughter is that allergic (and I’m not doubting it), the mother was reckless by putting her daughter in such close proximity to other people.
But peanut guy was more than just reckless. He was told of the possible danger, yet he just had to have his peanuts. That’s not just reckless behavior. It’s evil behavior.
Exactly.
Why is it some random person’s responsibility to to protect my from my allergies?
If my allergies are that dangerous, maybe I should take whatever measures are necessary to protect myself. Perhaps I should wear a respirator.
What if the passenger on the flight before her sat in HER very seat and ate peanuts?
Also all of this is a slap in the face to George Washington Carver who invented peanut butter, and so it’s very racist.

I think that’s a fair point. I’m not giving the mother a pass here. Please see my post #106.
Someone that sensitive has no business on an airliner. Too bad so sad... I don’t get to play in the NBA. Some things are just not for some people.
Peanut allergies are insidious.
You exhale small particles when eating. These can be deadly to those severely affected
No. If *YOU* have some sort of peculiar medical problem that makes you extremely vulnerable to what other people might do, it is on *YOU* to not take such a risk.
We need to stop letting the majority be controlled by a tiny sliver of the population which might object to something.
I think this is all drama, and I don't think the girl was ever in any danger. Anyone who would have a deadly reaction to the smell of peanuts needs to be in a plastic bubble.
I think she and her mother caterwauled enough to get attention, and then magnified their screaming because the man wasn't doing what they wanted.
I know of a case where a girl died from kissing a boyfriend who had ate something with peanuts, but the smell?
Very much think this whole thing is contrived by the mother in order to get sympathy and adulation.
You can stop someone from eating nuts. Physically take them away. An order from a flight attendant is a lawful order. Refusal is a Federal offence. Medical reasons would absolutely hold up in court if a flight attendant told not asked a passenger to cease an activity any activity putting a passenger or the plane in danger. There is no freedom on a plane you signed that away with your contract of c carriage. This is the brits they don’t have the same FAA laws the USA does. I am 6 foot 250 plus athletic and a former small teams service member of this was my kid I would have taken those nuts and if the person resisted could beat them to death with my bare hands wouldn’t be the first time in hand to hand to the death. Sadly for the girl it was her mum not her huge dad to sort that out. Inconsiderate bastard should have been knock silly for it.
I’m not saying peanut guy is right. But the mother exposed her daughter to that situation.
Well what if he already ate some peanuts, and then passes gas and his peanut fart wafts through the cabin? I really see no way out of this. She was doomed.
Mr. Peanut eater should be permanently placed on the no-fly list.
How selfish do you have to be to continue eating peanuts when told there is someone with a severe allergy nearby.
do they not make masks for such things???
you know, like the ones they’ve been mandating the last couple years...
It isn’t the smell of the peanuts, it is the actual ‘dust’ from the peanuts that becomes airborne.
