I’ve never heard of the guy; and I don’t know why people watch these shows.
There’s never anything ‘reality’ about them.
Big Brother season 2 was on in early 2000s. It had a semi-live video stream online. The stream showed a lot of activity that was cut from the 'broadcast' version.
In one of their 'contests', the contestants were doing some kind of challenge at an out-door barbecue. They ran it several times, trying to catch 'good' material for the broadcast version.
The 'broadcast' audience did not know that they would rehearse and repeat the semi-scripted segments multiple times. The contestants are under strict non-disclosure contracts, so they cannot reveal at lot of what really goes on behind the scenes.
Probably most of the so-called reality programming is more scripted than the audience realizes.
If I remember right, MTV’s “Real World” was the first “Reality TV” show.
It was the start of what ruined MTV, TV in general, and the last 3 generations of kids (was a very bad influence on culture and music).
