🇺🇸 Russian oil tankers arrived in the ports of New York and New Jersey in May, despite the United States imposing an embargo on Russia’s energy, The Wall Street Journal.
Oil tankers arrived in the US via the Suez Canal across the Atlantic Ocean from refineries in India. Probably, this is how traders are trying to conceal the origin of the oil in order to continue importing it after sanctions have been imposed.
In March, the U.S. banned imports of liquefied natural gas, coal, oil and refined products from Russia. But these restrictions may not apply if the product is of mixed origin, according to The Wall Street Journal.
