This immunity from prosecution is guaranteed by the Constitution This immunity was included in our constitution because back in the day the King of England could arrest, imprison or worse people who said things about him that he did not like.

Were they supposed to testify live or just by pre-recorded, carefully selected tapes from the almost 1000 depositions this Unselect committee took. Current or former members of the FBI and DOJ do not have the Congressional immunity from prosecution for lying that members of Congress have.
