Boy!
I went to market today, and am still suffering
from sticker shock!
$3.00 for a head of lettuce!???
I looked at a 5 1b beef roast $24.99 and that
was just for chuck roast!
Gas is $5.16 per gallon.
*sigh*
I don’t know if I can afford to STAY retired at these
prices! I man, we planned for it and scrimped and saved
and invested, but boy it’s gonna get eaten up fast come winter and we have to heat from October to May up here!

Saw the Music Man when I was a kid by our local High School back in the day in Friendswood, Texas! I was hooked from that say forward! I love watching ballet performances also. I only saw one a long time ago with a great friend back years ago,the Nutcracker at the Houston Ballet! She and I had the best of time dressing up and going to dinner afterwards,ha we only could afford the appetizer and a glass of wine in this posh place in downtown Houston! Love I remember all this! I was expecting with Lauren at the time! HA!

It’s funny to hear
@ChrisStirewalt pontificate on how “he” called Arizona. No way would Fox let a low-level character like Stirewalt make such a crucial call so early in the game. The order came from above, quite likely from Murdoch himself! Stirewalt was merely the delivery boy
I sealed about 15 more pounds of roast, today, since I made room, in the freezer by pressure canning some of the beef that’d been in the freezer since early ‘21.
I need to pressure can about 4 more good sized (frozen) roasts, here, pretty soon.
The garden isn’t going as great as we’d hoped it would. Live and learn. :-(
The lemons are looking good, though!

Every time I read one of the survival threads here, I panic and go can something. I’ve now used up all my jars!
My neighbor has figured something out, since when she asks what I am doing and I say canning a lot. So now she’s asking me about food storage. I don’t know how much I should say or how I should say it.
Ms.b - $3 for lettuce! What’s sad is that things like potato chips are so much cheaper than fresh produce. So many people are going to have to eat junk food just because of the cost.
