At the risk of appearing incredibly naive and thick-in-the-head, I assumed that once it was found out the FBI was behind the fake kidnapping plot, something would have happened to them. Surely the FBI isn’t supposed to be up to such criminality.....why is this just ignored, as if it’s par for the course? What am I missing here?

I actually agree with Liz Cheney when she said that the riot in the Capitol was not spontaneous but was planned. Where I disagree is about who planned it. I believe it was planned by anti-Trump bad actors in collusion with the FBI.
Republicans thought they were getting time to present congressional testimony stating evidence of voting irregularities in five swing states. That was the plan. It was going to be about 12 hours of broadcast TV on C-SPAN and put in the Congressional record. When the congressmen and Senators returned to their chambers, all that was forgotten and they went straight to the vote.
I do not believe it would’ve changed the outcome of the election but it would’ve informed the American public about many of the “irregular” things that happened during the election. Instead most Americans just say there was no evidence, since there were no court cases based due to procedural reasons.
I did not despise Pence before that day but he could have insisted that they hose presentations were made. When you look at the old saying “benefits include it was certainly the Democrats have benefited from having a riot.
Joe Biden has done nothing Democrats can campaign on in the midterms so they had to hold a theatrically produced sham hearing to demonize Trump.

Glad it’s boring. I hope that more people are unhappy that their favorite prime time TV show was pre-empted than find it interesting.
Somehow Biden can never give a prime time speech to the nation but this hearing is in prime time.
Nasty planned it so they could call off the people from presenting evidence.
And you nailed it by stating who benefited.
This is why they won't touch her with a 10 foot poll.
Nasty is the only person that they were ordered not to talk to.
It's all a coverup to protect Nasty and to blame Trump for a possible indictment to keep him from running again.

As the first prime-time hearing of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol gaveled in, Fox News host Tucker Carlson opened his show Thursday bragging about his network not carrying the proceedings live on its main cable channel.
“This is the only hour on an American news channel that won't be covering their propaganda live,” Carlson said of the committee. “They are lying and we are not going to help them do it.”
Every other major television network and cable channel offered continuous special coverage of Thursday's proceedings, including NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN.
Fox News took heat this week from Democrats and media pundits after it announced it would carry live continuous coverage of Thursday night's hearing only on Fox Business Network and its other streaming, digital platforms. It will also make its coverage available to its local affiliates across the country.
But Fox did not on Thursday pre-empt Carlson's top-rated opinion program, which the host has used over the last several weeks to cast doubt on the committee's assertions and suggest the controversy over the violent attack on the Capitol has been overblown.
On Thursday night, the committee made the case that former President Trump and his top allies worked to overturn the 2020 presidential election and incited the mob that stormed the Capitol that day. Carlson called the attack “forgettably minor by recent standards.”
Fox News said this week its primetime anchors would cover Thursday's hearings “as news warrants.” Carlson played clips from the first hour of the hearing three times, attacking committee members Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) and Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) over their statements after doing so.

The top Ukrainian official who was fired for spreading misinformation has admitted that she lied about Russians committing mass rape in order to convince western countries to send more weapons to Ukraine.
Lyudmila Denisova, the former Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, was removed from her position following a vote of no confidence in the Ukrainian parliament which passed by a margin of 234-to-9.
Parliament member Pavlo Frolov specifically accused Denisova of pushing misinformation that “only harmed Ukraine” in relation to “the numerous details of ‘unnatural sexual offenses’ and child sexual abuses in the occupied territories, which were unsupported by evidence.”
In an interview published by a Ukrainian news outlet, Denisova admitted that her falsehoods had achieved their intended goal.

I am glad that The Hill is letting people know that one network is speaking out on all the lies spewing forth from the mouths of the panel members. Articles on their lies should remind people that they have Congressional immunity, a protection granted by the Constitution, written before there were political parties.
I don't think they made the case at all.
The CASE that needs to be made is that Nasty and Bow-wow turned down 20,000 NG to protect the Capitol that Trump began offering on the 2nd.
That is the real crime of J6.

A man discovered a lonely kitten on the side of the road — only to have a pack of tiny cats emerge from the brush.
In a now-viral clip, the lone baby feline meows at the man where the grass meets gravel — but in the next minute, Louisiana’s Robert Brantley is ambushed by a stampede of meowing kittens.
“Oh, my gosh!” he exclaims in the video, which shows a seemingly never-ending kitten rampage. “I can’t take ya’ll. Oh, my gosh.”
One by one, the little kitties sprang from the tall grass that towered over their small bodies, running in circles around his feet.
“There’s more — we got a kitten problem,” Brantley says in the video, clearly shocked. “I thought I was saving one. Hot diggity dog.”
The 37-year-old Brantley was driving along and just happened to see what he thought was a kitten on the side of the road. After he continued on, he let the thought of the cat “marinate,” eventually deciding to turn around and rescue it before the rest of the pack suddenly surprised him.
“They’re all here at the house; they’re all doing good,” he told The Post of all 13 kittens he discovered. “The first time I fed them, they fought like they had never eaten a bite of food before.”
He speculated that someone probably had these kittens in their house and threw them out since he couldn’t find their mama.
While he can’t keep the entire baker’s dozen, he plans to keep at least two or three for his family, including one kitten on which his 1-year-old son fixated.
“They’re obsessed with each other,” he said. As far as the rest, gracious neighbors have offered to adopt them.
