California’s rate of gun deaths has declined by 10% since 2005, even as the national rate has climbed in recent years. And Texas and Florida? Their rates of gun deaths have climbed 28% and 37% respectively. California now has one of the 10 lowest rates of gun deaths in the nation. Texas and Florida are headed in the wrong direction.
Obviously, factors beyond a state’s laws can affect the rate of firearms deaths. The national health statistics take into account differences in the age distribution of state populations, but they don’t control for every factor that might affect gun deaths.

California’s lockdowns were far more stringent than Texas. It’s damn near impossible to kill a homie in a drive by shooting when he’s locked inside his crib, kill somebody in a robbery when nobody is in the street, or have a school shooting when schools are closed.
How disingenuous.
Wrong! California no longer counts gun crimes. If a gun is used in a robbery, the gun is not mentioned. This has been going on for several decades.
Wow, you have no comprehension of gradeschool math.
BAN GUNS. Let mass killers use machetes, flame throwers, knives, cars, trucks, bombs, poison, planes, electrocution, tyranny, or fire instead.
BTW, speaking of tyranny, if the left is so against mass murder why do they support communism? Communism is responsible for the largest mass murder of human beings in history.
I just asked this of AOC........

>Criminals can’t afford the taxes in CA.
They are moving to FL and TX like everyone else.<
Exactly what I started to post, only you said it better.
Wrong conclusion by author. Agree with your take.
The FBI and some Democrat Cities have been known to cook the books on violent crime statistics. Atlanta got caught at this big time a couple of decades ago. They reclassified types of crimes (IMO, with the FBI’s silence).
Not sure I'd base gun control laws on stuff like this. Although Utah, Idaho and Wyoming are doing pretty good. Demographics, law enforcement policies, how statistics are collected...it is tough. Here in Arizona, there is a LOT of violence - within a 2 mile wide corridor following I-19 to Tucson and I-10 from Tucson to west Phoenix. That's due to the flow of drugs. Outside that corridor is pretty safe.
Yes, but it’s not “gun violence,” so it doesn’t count. (If you’re killed with a knife, you’re much less dead.)
How soon before they starting calling it Texafornia ??
Do that chart by racial demographics, and a different picture will appear...
The murder rate went up 30% in 2020. So that’s proof that “gun control” just shifts the demographics. People simply use tire irons and cars instead...
But, shootings are actually up, according to this article, at least for LA County:
https://www.californiacitynews.org/2021/10/los-angeles%E2%80%99-murder-rate-keeps-rising.html
So, the Slimes is just lying, apparently.
visit there and you’ll soon learn that almost nobody in Cali pays any attention to that state’s illegal gun control rules
they are almost irrelevant
in actual practice, since the public has such utter contempt for them (and the politicians who adopted them)
therefore, any statistics from Cali are worthless
Murders could go up by 10x, but if they were all committed with knives or blunt instruments, the "gun death" number wouldn't budge.
Well the fact that everyone in CA is moving to TX might help. Fewer people, fewer crimes.
Notice the trendlines. California's violent crime rate is rising every year since 1996. Texas's is rising, but more slowly, since about 1994. Florida's is falling, and is well below California's.
“Gun deaths dropped in California as they rose in Texas”
Nobody left in California to shoot?
All the Californicators that moved to Texas are pissing off lots of people?
Many people from the west coast, northeastern states and Mexico have moved to Texas.
These “statistics” are an outright lie.
