You survived the coof, the lockdowns, the mask Nazi's and avoided the jab.

You lost some chickens to the bird flu, but that was ok, you were trying to lose weight, anyway, eat more veggies.

Monkeypox didn't bother you, because, well, let's just say you're not very, "progressive."

Now what will you do? Enter stage left, a real deal Viral Hemorrhagic Fever. Think Marburg, dissolving organs, blood dripping from the eyes.

Is this why China locked down Shanghai? How about North Korea, they were calling it, "the fever."

Remeber that Covid spread quickly from China to Iraq.

The ultimate goal is to bring back cheat-by-mail-in ballots for the Mid-Terms.

The ground is being laid on several different fronts.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Quarantine the sick. Protect the vulnerable. Hang the guilty. Free everyone else.

Seems like Title 42 would be in play for people coming over here from there?

There were reports of hemorrhagic fever in China back in January. And there was a case in the UK back in February, I think.

Per the article, it’s Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), not Marburg:

https://www.cdc.gov/vhf/crimean-congo/index.html

A tick-borne disease, does not spread easily from person to person. I don’t think we need to worry about a worldwide pandemic.

****

Isn’t that what you said about Monkeypox? Did you check out the Drudgereport website today?

I haven’t looked at Drudge in years. So I just now took a peek. My, what over-the-top sensationalism! It would be hilarious if people weren’t getting sick.

Monkeypox normally has an R0 of less than one, not very contagious, but once it finds its way into a highly promiscuous and mobile segment of the gay community, it could really spread like wildfire, fast and far among them. Still, when you consider the super spreader events in Antwerp, Madrid, and Gran Canaria so far, it’s a wonder we haven’t seen more cases.

There have been other outbreaks outside Africa. The worst was in the US in 2003. All were readily contained. This is the first time it has got loose in the abovementioned population.

CCHF is only rarely transmitted from human to human, and when it does happen it’s almost always in a healthcare setting.

Oh, and I never ever said Monkey pod was tick-borne. It certainly isn’t.

No, it won’t be coming through the southern border. It’s common enough in the Old World, but there have never been any cases in the Western Hemisphere. It’s a tick-borne disease that primarily affects animal herders and those who work with livestock, butchers, etc.

https://www.cdc.gov/vhf/crimean-congo/index.html

Other nasty diseases might enter our country that way, and already have, but we don’t have to worry about this one.
