LOL! One of my favorite movies. All of Jean Shepherd’s books are hilarious!
It was a warm day and heat could be a factor. I officiated a track meet all day in suburban Maryland. Took nearly 3 quarts of fluid.
‘Thanks In Advance’
Glad to see that BANNING pressure cookers in Boston proper has made a life-saving difference! ;)
Just wait till people who compromised their immune systems with the vax get exposed to the monkey virus
Okay, I know what that is, my Mom had a couple of those mini strokes.
She lived another seven years before COPD got her.
I just got bought it was another term the kids came up with.
"Throughout the race, weather temperatures ranged from the low 60s to high 70s..."
"In total, the FDNY says 16 people were taken to the hospital. Five were reported to have serious injuries..."
TIA
Glad I could help.
Sorry about your Mom.
😂 ... I should’ve guessed that one. :-)
Thanks....in advance.
Thank you very much. She was a good woman.
I don’t understand (did not go read the article other than what is posted here), but to me, “injuries” means something different than how it is being used.
How were the 16 injured? Ankle sprains? Fell and broke their wrists? Or did they have heat-related issues or vaccine-induced heart failure?
Seems like there is a lot of missing info, IMO.
Heat/humidity probably.
Is one dead, sixteen injured a normal tally, at this marathon?
Transient Ischemic Attack
brief stroke-like attack wherein symptoms typically resolve within 24 hours
My Dad suffered a couple of them fairly close together but was resolved with typical blood meds and had no recurring symptoms. It was scary though!
My Mom had a stroke when she was 39. Being the eldest of six, I took care of my younger siblings while she recouperated.
Her healing was a miracle, which I believe to this day.
She passed away in 2015 at the age of 89, so God gave her 50 more years.
God is SO good.
What a blessing....in your family....all around 💞
Chicago 2013, one runner died, several more hospital, many more collapsed. They called it off long before the scheduled ending time.
Thanks.
In advance ;-)
