Only 14 people nationwide have been reported sick from this problem so far. So maybe this is much ado about nothing. Who knows? Anyway, from the FDA link:
The recalled peanut butter was distributed nationwide in retail stores and other outlets. Recalled products include the products below with lot codes 1274425 – 2140425. Lot codes are included alongside best-if-used-by date.

Smuckers also owns the Laura Scudders Natural peanut butter brand. Could they be next?

The J. M. Smucker Co. Issues Voluntary Recall of Select Jif Products Sold in the U.S. for Potential Salmonella ContaminationWhy do they want to contaminate it?
Wouldn't it have been easier to contaminate it when they manufactured it?

I bet this is just the tip of the iceberg. We will start to see more and more recalls like this AS A DIRECT RESULT of weakened immune systems from the COVID Vax. FDA caused food shortages here we come.
Prove me wrong.

Glad it wasn’t Skippy! Just mixed up a tub of whipped topping with globs of Skippy dry roasted and honey peanut butter ... a peanut butter pie filling but I use it to make parfaits without the pie crust.

So maybe this is much ado about nothing. With lawyers these days, you can never be too careful no matter how remote the chance of contamination is

Wow. Just happen to have a quarter jar left. Had it for a couple months. Keep it? Throw it out? Make peanut butter cookies? Eh. Guess I’ll throw it out.

I buy Skippy natural, but tried Wal-Mart great value natural. It tastes identical, and I checked, and it’s not made by Smuckers/Jif. Way cheaper.

Just checked and my jar of Jif Extra Crunchy (3/4's already eaten) is on the list.
Tossed it.

Almost every major brand adds sugar as an emulsifier. I was raised on Skippy—never touch the stuff now.

Peter Pan Whipped Peanut Butter kicks ass. Yes it do!
Way back when I was a kid, I loved the Peter Pan Peanut Butter commercials with him flying around and Tinkerbell sprinkling Pixie Dust on him.
It would take more than Pixie Dust to make my fat ass fly...lol

Salmonella species are intracellular pathogens;[6] of which certain serotypes cause illness. Most infections are due to ingestion of food contaminated by animal feces, or by human feces, such as by a food-service worker at a commercial eatery.Immigrants who aren't accustomed to hygiene working at food processing facilities

Of those 14 people what was the conditions where they caught the food poisoning? Was a dirty knife or spoon used that was contaminated? This is a knee jerk reaction that costs us money at the store shelf. FDA can shut you down just because. Remember we are being warned of a food shortage. Is this by design?
