Dogs are omnivores and do benefit from non meat foods (as apporpriate) added to diet.

We call dogs "Opportunivores". They will eat almost anything and have cast iron digestive systems so they usually won't die from it. Most people make the mistake of thinking an all meat diet is best for dogs. It's not, as you know. But neither is an all vege diet. They do need a fair amount of animal protein.

Cats are straight up carnivores.

Having said that, what ever you are doing it is probably better than anything you can buy outside of a Veterinary Clinic. Even then. We sell stuff we wouldn't feed our own animals because people believe the marketing and demand it.

And since my last post, I learned that our only full time employee has to leave to go take care of her ailing father. PR has just herself, a couple of very part time trainees and old decrepit useless me. The old DVM who is only available 90 to 100 days a year is easing into retirement.

HELP WANTED! URGENT!!

We need a Veterinary Technician or experienced assistant
A grown up animal lover with retail skills.
A DVM who can either do rotations or take up residence here in the sportsman's paradise of Southeast Alaska.

Maybe make a post on FR? Or TS?

(Plus cats who go outside often catch small animals and eat them. Ours just LOVED mice...)

I just threw down some tomato plants I pulled up for mulch on my bananas. Dog ate them all. I was worried she would be poisoned, but nothing ever happened.
