Yet libertarians and squishy “conservatives” would legalize all drugs, meaning that in that scenario this guy would just be able to walk around like anyone else, anywhere he wanted, carrying and distributing his 70,000 fentanyl pills, 34 pounds of heroin, and 10 pounds of meth. And he would be just one of many roaming around.

I live in Denver, and can tell you about what a disaster just legalizing marijuana has been. It’s turned Colorado into a tourist destination, and new street home, for thousands of derelicts. One of my former co-workers, who lives in a nice suburban subdivision, had a whole houseful of pot heads move in next to her, and let’s just say they’ve been less than model neighbors. They told her they all came here from out of state for the pot. And that official acceptance of pot use has also caused an explosion of use of other drugs, including fentanyl and heroin.

The “live and let live” philosophy is just moral laziness. It’s the same fallacy that’s brought us to every milestone on the super slide to hell that is the “LGBTQIA++” insanity. “Live and let live” laziness enabled first tolerance of homosexuality, then societal acceptance, then forced celebration, and finally homo “marriage.” But since the “live and let live” crowd still wouldn’t push back even at that point, we now have the total depravity of “transgenderism” and the abject evil of forcing this agenda upon innocent children through the schools, media, and even government.

The “live and let live” folks are the societal equivalent of pacifists, always claiming for themselves some imagined moral high ground for their “tolerance”, but steadfastly refusing to accept responsibility for the human wreckage left in their wake. The American Founders were crystal clear that liberty was not a license to just do whatever you please, and that, as John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” They realized that America’s experiment in self-government and unprecedented freedom would only work if the People were morally restrained by an external moral code. Without that, American-style freedom would just become a license to do evil, and that is exactly where we are today. “Live and let live” is NOT the basis for American liberty; in fact, it’s little more than hedonism. Public morality, fostered by religious faith and self-control, IS the very foundation of our constitutional republic, as so clearly stated by Adams.

So again, trying to stand on the sideline while society goes down the toilet, whether because of rampant drug abuse or extreme sexual immorality, doesn’t make you “tolerant” or “libertarian”, it just makes you an accomplice to the murder of America.

I'm sorry.

I'll never do it again.

Until next time.

Remember the figure 1% Only 1% of illicit drugs are interdicted. Only 1% of prescription drugs are diverted.

The DEA spends an inordinate amount of time blaming opioid prescribers and manufacturers. Meanwhile cartels are relatively protected.

The reason is to seize assets of doctors and pharma companies. They must keep up the fiction that opioid prescribing caused the illicit drug crisis.

You hit the nail on the head
