That was lie and obviously they will be competitors. There were many better ways to say no thank you. This is the Trump I hate. Why would he want to make an enemy of musk it’s so not necessary ugh

I agree. Elon was just being nice and Trump wants to promote his own investment at the expense of Twitter. But attacking Musk is petty and uncalled for.
There is no obviously about it. The deal is on hold. As usual Trump tells the exact truth, says Elon is not stupid and he will not go through with the deal if Twitter misrepresented. But you think Trump should have been “nice”? His statement supported Musk.

I just checked Truth. Trump’s last “truth” had 1100 interactions in 8 minutes. On Twitter, he would be hundreds of thousands in 8 minutes. Trump would be very, very much limiting his reach to preserve his brand if he doesn’t go back.

To the extent Truth is a free-for-all the way Twitter used to be, it has the potential to become even bigger than Twitter. That’s why Musk is trying to lure the Donald back. He’s actually looking to prevent Truth from ever taking off so as to safeguard the value of the tens of billions he’s putting into Twitter.
Trump didn’t have to be such an ass about it.

Couldn’t agree more! This is a really stupid move on Trump’s part.
He’s shooting someone who could be one of his staunchest supporter.
Trump should occasionally return to Twitter. Truth Social is great but it is preaching to the choir. He is never going to change minds or win new support just talking to people who already agree with him.
If you read between the lines he called Elon stupid for wanting to buy Twitter. [If you buy, then you are stupid. But you are not stupid, therefore you shouldn't buy.] He knows full well Elon is not stupid for buying Twitter even if he ends up paying more than what Twitter is worth at the moment. What he doesn't want is Twitter becoming a success and hurting "TruthSocial".
Look I am a Trump supporter, but after that horrible rollout I’ve already lost interest. I mean the main inducement was that his forum would be a freer speech forum where he could say whatever he wanted. But now that Twitter is going there under Musk, there’s no doubt Twitter will remain the most popular. And probably even have freer speech than Truth Social. Will Truth Social even allow withering criticism of Trump? Will it allow those who hate, say Israel, a platform there? I seriously doubt it. There’s already so many forums out there as it is, Truth Social will be just another relatively minor player. He’s obviously worried about his investment, and he should be.
Well I guess we will find out. But personally I’m not buying any stock in it.
Elon buying Twitter is probably the worst possible thing that could happen to Truth Social. And Trump will relentlessly attack anyone he sees as a competitor. This will only hurt him in the end, as Musk is both an icon and iconoclast with much more crossover appeal than Trump. Hell, even among Trump's supporters, his public persona is one of the things they merely tolerate, not embrace.
If Truth doesn't take off soon, I can see Trump bailing in it and blasting Devin Nines and others for its failure.
Why would Trump and Musk now be enemies? I doubt Musk is offended. Although I bet he hopes Trump comes back as he was a powerhouse for getting people on Twitter. I tend to agree Truth will never succeed except as an echo chamber as anyone who doesn’t like Trump (no small number) will refuse to join.
Truth will not be bigger than Twitter. A good chunk of the country would rather eat dirt than put money in President Trump’s pocket by joining and helping promote his site. They would go back to Twitter however even if Trump returned. Twitter has so much more content than politics.
