The sooner we get back to the founding Federalist idea of how our nation should work, the better.
Too many people today don’t even know what it meant or means. They just want what they want when they want it.
“The sooner we get back to the founding Federalist idea of how our nation should work, the better.”
Other than a few people who enjoy political history I doubt that most people even know what that debate is all about. The original federalism was basically finished off by 1865. A consolidated nationalism replaced it and Anti-federalists like George Mason and Patrick Henry were proven to be prophets.
That tendency only grew stronger with each succeeding generation and national government just grew bigger and more intrusive. Now globalism is threatening to replace nationalism. And people are taking for granted the idea that the entire world is our concern and we need to play global policeman.
