PING. What a thought-provoking, inspiring, and non-sugar-coated tribute to this sterling human being.
At the age of 95, when Musk eventually dies in his sleep inside his self-designed 375-square-foot living pod on the red planet, this quality of eulogy is all you could ask for.
Musk is more than his many achievements. And I thank you, HKMk23, for measuring the under-appreciated moral dimensions of the man.

If you thought that living next to the airport would be noisy, think of being within earshot of these spacecraft.

The article says there are still nine property owners who have not yet sold to to SpaceX.

Interesting thought. I guess the difference between “annoying” and “cool” is the frequency of the event.

He normally arrives late at night, he goes straight inside and rarely comes out.I suspect that house is just a place to crash for a few hours sleep then he's off to work again before the sun comes up.
There was an elderly lady who worked in the accounting depart at the plant I worked for.
She only needed about three hours sleep then she was up around 3:00 a.m. and doing seamstress stuff for other employees.

Probably a slim chance that you could just take a walk by the house without being greeted by some very fit looking neighbors.

Another Howard Hughes in the making?
Where do all those kids from his first marriage live, and his ex-wife (their mother)? Are they near him in Texas?

“A down-to-earth” Howard Hughes. Not nearly the eccentric.
Actually, read somewhere he owned no property, home. He would flop at a friend’s home, stay a short time and
move on. It read as though he had many friends and felt comfortable enough sleeping in a spare bed, on a
sofa when the need arose.

That’s a trailer by another name. š
My point was that he didn’t stay at that house all the time.

I respect that heās not behaving like the Hollywood set thinking everyone wants to know what he thinks because of his billions, but has been just kind of a real guy in all this; I mean, he gave two hours to The Babylon Bee, for Heavenās sake. If thereās a sociopolitical point further removed from the din of Hollywood narcissism Iām not aware of it.You're right on every point - but I especially liked this part. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that’s true.
In fact, Russia engaged in Electronic Warfare and disrupted StarLink, but Elon’s team uploaded a software revision that completely naturalized the threat; probably by removing a weakness Russia was exploiting, but that last bit is just a guess.
So, yeah, Elon has done more to shut down Russian hostility than the entire State Department.

āA down-to-earthā Howard Hughes.
Hey, V.K. It’s a good analogy, at least on the business side - and building aircraft.
Of course, Hughes was also almost a test pilot. Talk about having “skin-in-the-game”. One time he crashed and miraculously survived.
