I remember a family member in 1966, before commercial formula, making her own. Evaporated milk (or perhaps powdered milk) and Karo syrup.

I like evaporated milk in my coffee better than cream.

But if I have to give up my evaporated milk for the babies, so be it.

I can get soy creamer, though I have to go to Fresh Thyme for it.

But you are right. There will either be a run on evaporated milk to replace formula and/or mysterious fires at evaporated milk plants.
