The war in Ukraine has had its fair share of embarrassments for the Kremlin. From the sinking of the Slava class cruiser Moskva in April to the infamous 40-mile-long Russian military convoy holdup near Kyiv seen earlier in the conflict, Moscow has had little to cheer about in terms of projecting competent military strength. The latest hit comes via visual evidence that a Russian T-90M Proryv-3 (Breakthrough-3) — a modern and rare main battle tank — has been destroyed on the battlefield by Ukrainian forces.

Shared on Twitter by The Kyiv Independent’s defense reporter Illia Ponomarenko, the image, dated May 4, shows what appears to be the remnants of a T-90M tank, still smoldering after a direct hit somewhere within Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv Oblast. Andriy Tsaplienko is seen reporting in the foreground.

And it very doubtful that the Orcs will commit suicide over the Ukraine by using nukes. The fallout alone will trigger a NATO response.

Rapacious? You talk as if they are sub-human. Yet the Azovs have been shelling civies for eight years. How about the admitted war crimes against Russian POWs? Ukrainian drones with chemical/biological weapon sprayers installed. The ethnic beatings of their own citizens. The biolabs. The racial laws. We can go round and round, but until Russia and Ukraine treat each other (and their citizens) with Christian respect and live up to their treaties, we should just mind our own business.

As I have stated before, if a NATO-Russia war starts Biden will bail on Europe and leave them high and dry. A bunch of other NATO countries will bail as well. Biden intends to wreck Pax Americana for all time.

I didn't get into the details of why that isn't a T-90M.

1. The metal grid or cage all around is missing.
2. the wheel guards are not not on that tank. Some small pieces of the wheel guard is on the ground.
3. Note the barrel I think it's a cooling device or thermal shroud isn't placed right. That looks more like the older M829A2 canon.

I think the gun in that pic is a 2A46M-1 used on early T-90 versions. note the placement of the thermal shroud. These thermal shrouds are also a threaded extension for the barrel they can't be moved.

Mostly T-64s at the start; they’ve captured a bunch of Orc tanks of all varieties, but which ones still exist - no idea.

they list it as a T-9M; they use the same image to ID it. They are familiar with all the varieties and so on. they will correct it, should new info become available

UA captured 9 T-90As. there are 94 unknowns - not IDed tanks.
