Abortion is one of the most divisive issues in U.S. politics and has been for nearly a half century.

Well, it seems to be off the table now. It's a done deal.

I say this hurts the Democrats in a big way:

Presidential elections? Well, we have to stop that guy. He's against abortion.
Supreme Court nominee? Well, we have to stop that guy. He's against abortion.
Feminism isn't about helping women, it's about abortion. Well, what happens to feminism now?

I think the 2022 and 2024 elections will get a lot less "interesting" to people on the Left because their key point of interest has been taken away.

I was thinking along the same lines as you. Although I'm still having trouble accepting that this is all "real".

I mentioned to my wife that SCOTUS nominations are likely to become more "civil" without the abortion litmus test in play.
