I think that my favorites are the hummingbirds that come up from South/Central America each Spring, and stay until the end of Summer.
It is a little blurry since it is zoomed in on my phone... a relaxing view from my front porch rocker...
We have only one species of hummingbird in my area, but they are numerous.
What an interesting feeder! When I have a feeder, I never add red food coloring to the water. Audobon says there’s no need for it. Evidently, the birds smell the nectar, so they don’t necessarily need to see it.
My sister, our friend and I used to watch birds when we were “little.” Happy days!
I’m reminded of an old Garfield cartoon where the cat is waxing poetic about how beautiful fish are. In the last panel he’s picking his teeth with a fish bone and saying “They also make a darn fine breakfast.”
