I made it in three today. I did take a break between the second and third try as I had a bunch of customers come in. I think that helped as my subconscious was working away on the problem while my body did other things.
I have been informed that the picking has been halted as it is raining. Perhaps Monday will not be quite as bad a canning day as Friday was.
And DH has reported that despite the humidity his bread came out very nice and so he decided to make a couple of batches of pies for the freezer and one for dinner tonight.
Mmmmmm fresh peach pie. Yum!
Good job, HTB!
Even if I get the dreaded X/6, it’s still a good day because it just means I get another chance at it tomorrow!
Oh, peach pie is my favorite! Or peach cobbler. And peach jam. My daughter and her hubby bought some trees for their new house today and one is a peach tree. She’s turned into quite the little gardener since they’ve been together. Maybe one day, she’ll regale me with stories of her own canning!
This wasn’t a bad day, as far as projects go, but sanding the door was as far as I got, and I don’t know when I’ll paint again. The weather doesn’t want to agree with me for the next week, at least.
But I think I really need to consider making some bread in the next few days. It’s been a while, and I love the smell of baking bread! I had a school pal whose mother had a hugh cast iron stove in their kitchen and she made about 8-10 loaves of bread a day. (Family of seven, I think.) I used to love to go visit them!
