Well, the first person I spoke to talked with a Western Pacific Island dialect, and inferred that it was all my fault before she transferred me.
I’ll try again tomorrow, and if there is no resolution, I will begin to write letters. A job that is truly difficult in my current stage of health, but which I will attempt anyway.
When my m-i-l was in the rehab facility we got a bill from the nearby hospital and paid it. When Mrs. ArGee was talking with the rehab billing person she asked why she’d gotten a separate bill and was told, “They’re notorious for billing people without submitting to insurance first.”
So we checked and, sure enough, we’re owed a refund.
We’ve been trying to get that refund since March. It’s still not here.
I called my state rep to ask if they wanted to investigate the possibility that people do this with seniors in the hopes they won’t have the capacity, or time, to follow through.
