This is happening too often.
I’m getting some bear spray for when I hike or even walk along the roads in rural areas. People are insane about their pit bulls (which is what most of these dangerous dogs are) and even though there are laws about keeping them confined, many of the owners simply let them roam or keep them in pens where it is very easy for the dogs to get out.
Before people tell me that I should carry a gun, let me say that I’d be dead long before I managed to get it out or do any damage with it, so bear spray is a better option!
We have a guy in town, on a corner, who lets his pit-like dogs wander unrestrained on his front lawn. We drive our dog now for walks & spouse carries
I think bear spray is a good idea. We always carry pepper spray
Bear spray might be the better option, but I don't understand why a gun would be slower to deploy and operate. Are you carrying bear spray in your hand at all times? That would seem tiresome.
