Hi CB....
I am over my cold and my flu, but on Tuesday, I thought that I wasn’t feeling quite as miserable as I have been, so in order to remedy that, I thought I’d take a flip in the kitchen and be on the floor and unable to get up for an hour. I can’t get on my knees, as they’re the fake ones and it’s excruciating. So I tried a few things, but, alas, had to wait for my son to come over.
He’s a big 6 foot 4 guy, solid muscle, who works out at the gym every day and hauls and fair bit of concrete, so I was very grateful for that lol! He came in, smirked a little (I’ll get him back for that one day), told me to put my feet up against his shoes, got me by both arms and the next thing I knew I was standing again lol. I was so grateful.
In any case, I have really jammed up my arm (I think I banged it on the way down), and my legs are super sore. The worst part is that I’ve been afraid of falling for some time, and try to be very careful, but now I’m PETRIFIED. I’ve gone walking today because the pain in my legs is just sore muscle from repeatedly trying to stand up - like after you work out for the first time in years.
So, after this is in the past, I will be out walking more and Natalie has a nice little gym building that I intend to use. I have to be able to get back up by myself if I fall again. That’s my project for the summer.
Sorry you asked lol?
Glad the puddy cats are fun and growing nicely!
I remember when we used to laugh at those ads, “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!”
Now it is NO laughing matter.
So sorry this happened to you.
But I love your sense of humor!
Oh, no, Judy!
This is so scary.
I have a friend who fell, while visitng her parents…and, no one there, at the house, could get her up (elderly parents, older sister). She had to call the fire department, to come get her up!
I cannot even imagine….but, I know the knees were not helping you!
Years ago, I saw a vintage clip of Jack LaLanne saying….you must always continue to do squats and push ups, in order to have the strength (in your arms and legs) to get yourself up, should you fall.
So….those are two exercises I try to do, religiously, even if I don’t have time to walk and/or work out.
I hope the arm is better, soon as well as the sore legs. Glad it wasn’t worse..and, that your smirking, sweet son was able to come to your rescue 💞
Glad you weren’t injured too badly. Were you by the phone to call your son?

Now when I see the ad “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” I’ll think of you.
Oh no Judy,
Sorry to hear this, I always worry about falling also.
Friend happened to send this along the other day, says it works, could work for you.
I had a sore leg muscle

Why athletes use car buffers to massage sore muscles
The dull ache of overworked muscles is a familiar part of an athlete’s daily grind. They might use foam rollers, tennis balls or — for the lucky ones — therapeutic massage to ease the pain of strenuous exercise.
HOPE IT WORKS.
I fell about 3 years ago by tripping on my own dusting pan after mopping.
Laid their forever but fortunately just a very sprained wrist!
Had to get my daughter to take me to the ER that next morn.
All I know It's awful lying there by yourself until help comes!
UGH!
