Raccoons are as vicious an animal as you can find. They used to get into the hen house now and again and slice the hens from the bottom, right up the front, to their heads. Not to eat, just to kill. We caught a few of them and had no problem shooting them....they’re that mean. Don’t let the cuteness of the babies fool you.

They’re horrible creatures....their mouths, teeth and claws are not unlike the honey badger. Having had a few trapped in a small cage, I’ve seen how vicious and scary they can be. Those teeth could rip a small animal apart in a heartbeat.

A few mornings when I got up raccoons were eating the cats’ kibble on the screen porch. There was a screen door at each end, and we left them propped open about 10-12” so the cats could come and eat. Possums, too.

LOL, I did, they sure outsmarted me. I was pretty sure they had to be under the bed, the bed frame is only about 2 in off of the floor so I figured they squeezed under there. I met a friend for lunch and then she came back to the house with me and help me dismantled the bed. We were standing there with our mouths open when there were no kittens whatsoever. There is no other place in that room they could be. So I thought.
Myrcella had noticed how the kittens kept going in and out from under one of the dressers. She said to open the bottom drawer and take a look, and sure enough they were snuggled up there on top of my sweaters. I’m so glad she thought of that, I was panicking. I was thinking they hadn’t have food or water since last night
