An elderly hiker who was missing for six days was found dead in a rugged forest in Arizona with his loyal dog still alive at his side, officials said.
The body of 74-year-old Donald Hayes was located by authorities on Wednesday near Mingus Mountain in north-central Arizona — about 85 miles north of Phoenix, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
When responders arrived on scene, they found Hayes’ dog, Ranger, “very dehydrated and malnourished,” lying next to his body, officials said.
Responders took the pup to an animal hospital before he was returned to Hayes’ wife, a sheriff's office spokesperson said.

Why did Biden just brag that he’s now air lifted baby formula to the US from another country — isn’t it his fault we have this shortage to begin with?
Been there done that. My thought was not “Monkey Pox” but just “now what”. Had just gotten out of the shower and looked down at my feet. Took me a few hours to understand what had happened.

We are living in a cycle of government created crisis to distract us from the assaults on our sovereignty at every level.
When basic needs run low ppl are much easier to control. Authoritarians thrive in crisis b/c ppl will surrender freedom for security.
Very sad, should have stayed put, was taught that as a kid.
And what a wonderful loyal dog he had who stayed by his side guarding his body.
