Major League Baseball announced a 324-game suspension for Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer on Friday, the equivalent of two full seasons and by far the most severe punishment handed out under the sport's domestic violence policy.
Bauer promptly released a statement announcing he was appealing the suspension, thus becoming the first player to appeal punishment through MLB's domestic violence policy.

I used to live and breath baseball. In years past, I would have said, “Great, maybe the Reds will make the series”. To say I hated the Dodgers was an understatement.
Today…meh. I wouldn’t even know that the Reds are off to a horrendous start if I hadn’t run across an article by accident.
Curt Flood ruined baseball over 50 years ago…change my mind.
“Some Like It Rough, coming soon to a theater near you.”
Fifty Shades of Grey, 2015.
And two more in the series since.
The other days I stated the starting lineups of the Reds, Pirates, A’s and Orioles from the 1970s and didn’t blink an eye. Truth is I couldn’t name five baseball players today without struggling.
It's not baseball anymore. Designated hitter. Sabermetrics. Three true outcomes in baseball. The game is now boring. The flow isn't just there anymore. It's a darned shame.

“Two encounters”? Red flag!
five-year, $230 million

A judge refused to grant the woman a restraining order and prosecutors said they didn’t have enough to prosecute a case against Bauer. he is suing her for defamation.
The woman said she has had sex with two of the Padres, including Tatis Jr.
If you read Twitter, Trevor Bauer is one of the most outspoken players on social media, and often critical of the way baseball does things. Sometimes I agree with him; sometimes I don’t. But in light of the firing of Ken Rosenthal for making the lightest criticism of Boy Manfred, it looks like Bauer was targeted and cancelled for his outspokenness.
IOW, this is an unfair, punitive, and vengeful punishment designed to destroy Bauer’s career. Typical of Boy Manfred, and another reason why MLB is going down the tubes.
