key word being "law"....because what we have right now is anarcho-tyranny which means no law, at least no law for the favored while the unfavored (whites in general,Christians, Jan 6 marchers, etc) get the full brunt of oppressive tactics....
We're talking about the suspension of the Constitution for a long period, perhaps years. What would America under military rule look like? How would people's lives change? Having tasted power, would the military even want to give up rule? History doesn't have a great track record on that one.
In stating the question, I realize I sound like so-called "revolutionary vanguards" throughout history. Lenin, Hitler, Mao and others thought they could rule better than the people. Monarchs throughout history thought the same.

We look little like the nation that fought for its independence and wrote the Constitution. We've become more like the Europe our ancestors fled.
There is a line from the Vietnam War that echoes: "We had to destroy the village in order to save it." Are we talking about the same thing here? What will be the long-term consequences?
