One of my college instructors was tasked to review Stanley and Pons work on cold fusion. He said that they had built what looked like a sort of amplifier. It did get a gain but used power to get it and didn’t create energy. But he also said that they weren’t ready to publish or say anything but it was the UofU President who found out what they had done and announced that they had discovered cold fusion so he could get headlines. what a mess.
Yeah.
Thinking about it that was more like almost 40 years ago.
