Twitter, Elon Musk and software sabotage
4/26/22 | self

Posted on 04/26/2022 6:32:18 AM PDT by bill andersen

I like many Freepers are delighted in Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter. I hope he cleans house as soon as he is able and turns it into a free speech forum where all can participate.

It is safe to say that 90 percent of Twitter employees despise Elon Musk. It follows logically that many of them will leave twitter. Prior to their exit I believe many will sabotage the software, database and servers. Since they have expert knowledge of the system they can put in bugs that will be very difficult to detect. Also they can put in backdoors allowing them to access the system after they have left. With these things in mind I expect twitter to have frequent crashes, ransomware attacks and server failures.

It will be a few months before he can get control which gives the employees plenty of time to sabotage twitter. I also expect them to take the source code, database and server configurations with them when they leave to they can quickly and easily make a platform for liberals.

Any thoughts on this fellow freepers?

Twitter like it or not is the town square of the world. Musk is absolutely right it must be open for all to have free speech. He is going to open it up and then tie. It’s backbone to his private space based Internet that is about to give the other 5 billion people on this planet not only Internet access but a voice in the world conversation. Twitter in short time will grow from 350 million users to the potential of 4 to 5 billion. His global highspeed Internet is nothing short of a revolution. Look at the Uke right now Russia tried to turn off access to the outside world and with a few clicks of some keys Musk himself turned on Internet access for the whole country at once then sent thousands of terminals which each can support a whole village via routers and mesh Wi-Fi. Musk is going to open the whole planet to having a free voice that anyone else in the planet can hear it’s a paradigm shift. China, Cuba, Venezuela Russia are all scared sh1tless to have access they can neither stop nor filter. There already are too many starlink birds to shoot down and by this time next year there will be over 4000 of them no way anyone can shoot down that many not when he is launching them at nearly 60 a week it would take 60 asats to one falcon 9 payload that’s an impossible ratio. No starlink is the global open platform there is no way to stop it now critical mass has been reached. Russia already tried to electronically disrupt it in Uke they failed the birds have phased arrays and just nulled out the jamming signals it’s genius as is Musk he is a modern day Edison and will go down in history not only as the first trillionare but also one of man’s greatest innovators. He already turned 1960s syfy rockets landing on their tails into a once a week in the middle of the ocean happening.

I’m a bit puzzled.

No one made an electric car that was any good so he helped form Tesla.

No one was measuring up to his idea of SPACE TRAVEL so he started his own space program.

No one was actually attempting futuristic urban travel infrastructure so he made the boring company and created roads underground without interrupting life above ground at all.

People have talked about human computer interfaces for decades, and he made it.

Science fiction has pined for fully functional bipedal robots for almost a century, and he’s doing it now.

He is the closest to colonizing Mars. Yes, another planet that he will put the flag on to claim as his.

All the meanwhile you’re telling me that he is convinced that a social media network that can compete and beat Twitter isn’t possible?

This doesn’t add up.

You guys like to talk like Musk doesnt know what hes doing.
Well he knows exactly what he’s doing more than anybody else on the planet.
And he’s super smart and the greatest entrepreneur on the planet. And he knows how Twitter works more than you do
I’d back Musk against far left anarchists at Twitter any time of the day.

“I don’t understand why they ‘despise’ Musk.”

They are drunk on their own power, they get an almost sexual rush from wielding it, and now they see it slipping away.

There are plenty of opportunist billionaires in the world. Smart doesn’t always equate to opportunist billionaires. I truly hope he’s got all the bases covered, but I wouldn’t bet the ranch on it. I’ve never been on Twatter, so I don’t know what he’s facing there, but I hear it’s ugly.

Even the best of intentions can fail. Trump was betrayed by his own crew. Same can happen to Musk. If he has true integrity the first thing he would do is disconnect the real time direct data collection connection to the government that Twitter has had all along.

Time will tell if he is in it for the money, or in it for true principles. Returning it to free speech is not the same as respecting privacy from data collection for sale and government monitoring. They are two different concepts. And data collection is huge in revenue. Is Musk willing to give up all this revenue?

And you can bet Twitter has been getting under the table government dollars to provide them with data.

How many of them have ever been worth over $300 Billio?
Answer: None apart from Musk

Or founded 3 multi billion dollar, world changing companies?
None apart from Musk.

If you think a bunch of bottom feeding left wing crazies at Twitter are going to get the better of Musk, you are crazy.

You are going to need to read up on Musk.
You don't seem to know much about him.
Don't try to give informed opinions on stuff you know nothing about.
You also forget Dorsey has come out strongly on Musk's side. Them crazy leftists at Twitter won't know what hit them.

So how come Twitter stock has performed terribly since their IPO in 2013?

You are going to need to come up with something better than that.

I think both sides are making big assumptions about Musk that don’t necessarily track. Up until a couple months ago most conservatives weren’t fond of Musk because a lot of his fortune came from government “green” programs. And a lot of liberals liked him because of his “green” initiatives. Then he declares he wants to fix Twitter’s free speech problem and suddenly both sides assume he’s going to break for the conservatives. The same conservatives that have spent years ragging on him for his electric cars, and self driving cars, and whatever else they don’t like (smoking pot, whatever).

I predict that a few months from now conservatives are going to be very disappointed in whatever changes to Twitter he’s accomplished. Though the liberals might not be so quick to realize their assumptions were wrong.

I agree with your assessment - Musk can and will Make Twitter Great Again.

There seems to be a process in place where - just as in politics - the Old Money takes the New Money aside and tells them if they want to stay part of the Club they had better toe the line. Musk seems to have just enough of a touch of Asperger’s to ignore the Old Money and do things his own way. The Twitter purchase coupled with Starlink could be the beginning of the end for the Davos crowd and their attempts to create and control world opinion.
