“The cops can’t be on every street all the time, even in the best of times.”
While true, enforcing the laws creates a civil society that has a greater tendency to follow the laws and obey the police. People are more inclined to do the right thing even if the police (or Mom & Dad or neighbors) aren’t watching.
Stop enforcing the laws and society breaks down, then collapses, and there is no more law. We are on that path.
You are correct. But in my area, driving rules and etiquette had been breaking down for years before Covid, before
defund police’, etc..
Many people just don’t give a damn about other people anymore, and don’t think that they have any duty to be civil.
The end result is going to be vigilante justice.
People are going to be forced to do whatever is necessary to defend themselves. And at the rate it’s going, it won’t be long now.
