Ukraine is a failed state by every measure. Crruption, top three, Pandora Papers, Nazis terrorizing citizens.
Give the blue to Russia and the rest to Poland. Done deal.

That map does not reflect the ethic division of Ukraine. Only Crimea has an ethnic Russian majority. And while around 70% of Donbas is
Russian speaking, less than 40% are
ethnic Russians. Do not confuse, as many have, language with ethnic identity. A majority of the Irish are English speakers, but do not call them English.
For what it is worth, here is a map of the linguistic division of Ukraine:

But keep in mind that even in Russian language areas, other than Crimea, the majority of the population still considers themselves Ukrainian, not Russian.

If all those parts of Ukraine were as pro-Russian as you are trying to imply, the Russians should have had a
much easier time in this invasion than they had. Which means that the chart doesn't really tell us squat about whether who actually supports continued resistance by the Ukrainian government versus capitulation to Russian demands.
And the Ukrainians rightly understand that if they give up that territory in blue, it wouldn't be more than a few years before the Russians invaded and gobbled up the rest of the country that Putin already has written doesn't really have a reason to exist as an independent country.
