Human sacrifice was kind of a good idea at the time, just based on bad “science”, sort of what Fauci does.

Wonder why you get those big waves of death among your co-cave dwellers?(like when famine, disease, or natural disaster strikes).

Well, it’s the gods of death getting overly hungry. Sometimes, just like you and me, they go awhile without and when they finally get some, it’s voracious.

So to avoid that, you have to ensure they are fed regularly...

Heh, “kind of a good idea at the time”, yeah, this must be the answer since we can’t imagine what else to do, and antianxiety meds are hundreds or thousands of years in the future... ;^)

Hunter Gathers tend toward ritual cannibalism, farmers tend toward ritual human sacrifice.

But then when times are tough enough every civilization tends toward cannibalism.
