When I moved to TN, I couldn't get my favorite local natural casing dogs from up North.
After a long search, I found Dietz and Watson natural casing dogs. Man they are GOOD. They have that [snap!] when you bite them.

Sabrett with red onions and brown mustard. Had a NYer tell me what region that was from but I don’t remember now.

Dietz and Watson stuff is awesome but these days it’s priced unbelievably high, at least around here. All the lunch meats are double digit $$/pound.

Ha! My Mom would make spaghetti with chili on it for Saturday supper sometimes. I never knew it was kind of weird until we moved to MA sooo many years ago.

Let me guess. You come from a Western New York city that is named after a large animal....

The only thing I’d put on a hot dog is mustard, onions, maybe jalapenos.
But just mustard is good.
Any mustard that is not sweet

What’s wrong with ketchup? That’s the only thing I will put on a hot dog.

Around Boston there is Maple Leaf brand. Excellent dogs, if you can find them.

I recommend #8 in the article, the Italian hot dog from NJ. Hot dog in a Italian roll with fried potatoes, onions and peppers.

I lived in Cheektowaga for a while. Around there, if you have a cookout, and you use any hot dog other than Sahlens, you are shunned and will become a social outcast.
