Some article I read said this was the “second encounter” between the two during the race, and that the attacker ran onto the track, sped up, and deliberately punched the white guy in the head. Maybe this was retaliation, i.e. not random.
Ah the human drama of athletic competition!
The article said that the attacker had been on the track earlier, heckling and getting in the way of the runners. (I don’t know why the officials didn’t remove him at that time.)
The attacker had already tried to stop this kid, who was the front runner, by getting in the kid’s way on the track. The runner told the attacker to move and shoved past him to go on with the race.
So the attacker followed him and sucker punched him.
‘The family of the victim did want to press charges for this vicious attack and assault caught on video and witnessed by hundreds of people. The OCSD deputy told the family that if [my client] pressed charges then he would also be arrested for battery.’
That erroneous deputy needs to face repercussions too.

The officials were obviously afraid to deal with this aggressive person of color. They didn’t do anything when he blocked the race, so it went even further. Then the police won’t even charge him.
When the day arrives we get back to calling a spade, a spade, we will know things are beginning to show improvement. Until then, we are going to continue down the coddling path yielding ever more of what certain amish underthugs are capable of.
Instigate as much as humanly possible but ghetto rules say if you make any sort of contact first all bets are off, it’s your fault.

If the word nigger is so offensive to black people, why is it used in their daily speech and songs, and don't tell me that it is only offensive if said by a white person, because the written word looks the same regardless of who types it {and no one can see who typed it}.

The way I read it was the “pusher at the end” was asked by the white runner to get out the way when he was on the track. Later the “pusher” pushed the white runner on the track due to the earlier incident. I haven’t figured out if the “pusher” was a runner in the race or a spectator.
Why would the cops prevent them from pressing charges?
Ok. The pusher was an athlete but was not running that race but he blocked the white runner and he asked him to move off the track.

The “pusher” will claim the white athlete called him the N word. Betcha.
The Police know better than to charge him. They learned their lesson from the George Zimmerman case. In Florida, what ever a Black person does to you, you do not resist. If they decide they wish to kill you as happened to the husband and wife in Daytona. Well it is just your time to go. Because if you defend yourself, the Law will jump on you with both feet, As George Zimmerman found out the hard way,
