My understanding...
Schumer and McConnell made a powersharing agreement, since the Senate was evenly divided.
Each party got 50% of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
If a nominee gets more than 50% of the vote, they go to the whole floor and it only takes 51 votes.
If a nominee cannot get a majority, the leader Schumer can still send it to the floor of the full senate, but now it needs 60 votes.

I was anticipating that it was something along those lines. Well, fortunately the United States Senate is managed by such truly honorable persons. This should all turn out just terrific.
