Body camera footage shows the shocking moment a female police officer laughed as she taunted a mentally-ill 70-year-old who locked herself in the bathroom during a manic episode.
The recently shared video, edited down from 90 minutes of body camera footage released last year by the Tulsa Police Department, purports to show female police officer Ronni Carrocia banging on a bathroom door as she laughed and told one of her colleagues: 'This is going to be fun.'
An Emergency Medical Service worker told the officers when they arrived at the scene of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 25, 2021, that the victim, LaDonna June Paris, 70, was bipolar and was having a manic episode and had shut herself into the bathroom, according to the video.
The EMS worker tells Carrocia: 'We couldn’t make her do anything, so we called you guys for assistance, and then she just took off.'
But when officers arrived on-scene at the restroom, Carrocia can be seen threatening the woman with a Taser, as she asks, 'Do you want to get Tased?' to which Paris can be heard saying: 'Don't do it. Why are you doing this?'
Paris can also be heard pleading with Carrocia, saying: 'Get away from me, get away, get away' after she rattled the door. In response, Carrocia laughs and tells one of her colleagues: 'I love my job.'
Soon, Paris can be heard saying, 'The cops are trying to kill me here.'
The Tulsa Police Department, however, has said in a statement that the officers at the scene that day were acting within the department's policies - although it noted that their communications with each other could be 'perceived as unprofessional.'

Huh? Seriously?
The Community Response Team was requested to come out but they were on another call and couldn’t make it. So after 15 fruitless minutes of requesting compliance, the cops decided to end it themselves. I’d rather they were out fighting serious crime than trying to get a loony tunes out of a bathroom anyway. Crazy or not, she should have followed the cops’ directions.
Tulsa should fire her now. Her attitude is one of unprofessionalism and cruelty. She is taunting the woman in the bathroom (in a Habitat for Humanity) and laughing. This is disgusting to me.
Tell me this: what would YOU do in a situation like that?
yeah,i wasn’t there- so i did not hear her tone.
The only thing the police did wrong was in the officer allowing herself to be recorded not showing the proper amount of empathy for the ubiquitous social justice warriors.
Everything else was necessary and within proper police parameters.
Likely so. She's black and had locked herself in the restroom with an aerosol can and a lighter trying to set the place on fire. The Tulsa PD tried to reason with her for half an hour when they decided to go in.
And a civil rights lawyer has already jumped on the case.
But the fact is that she presented a threat to the building and refused to obey lawful police orders. Watch the part of the video where they're trying to get her into the police car.
I understand that the lady presented a threat to the building and the situation needed to be resolved safely. My issue with the female police officer is that she treated it as a big joke, laughing about it and seemingly enjoying her opportunity to be a bada**.
Not laugh and say “this is gonna be fun”. Try being professional. You’re pathetic.
Well for one, look at the pic posted. I would NOT be smiling and laughing about it. I don’t find it funny. She’s a sick woman not a harden criminal.
Dude please no matter the agenda of the DM there are pics and video to go with this. That female officer was laughing and smiling. I don’t think it’s funny to laugh at a sick person at their worst moment. Say you had cancer and were dying, or fell and just broke your leg that ain’t funny so why would this be?
“Why do the sadistic types always end up with badges?”
One of my best friends was a psychologist who did testing for a major metropolitan police department. He told me about some of the sickos they hired after he turned them down. Politics.
The cops had waited half an hour for the Crisis Response Team (what kind of made up bogus division is that?) to no avail. CRT was tied up somewhere else.
What the lady cop did was stupid, not criminal, and IMO doesn't deserve the vehemence she's receiving. How quickly the civil rights attorney (his specialty) showed up tells me it's not impossible that the whole thing was orchestrated for just this outcome.
That is pretty much what I have thought for a long time. There are also those that were the bullies in school, and they just continued as adults.
My son is a police officer and he doesn’t like dealing with the mentally ill because they are so unpredictable and most are frequent flyers so the officers know them but mental illness and if they have taken drugs makes the whole contact dangerous.
A year ago in his department they got a call of a man with a gun running around in the road screaming and threatening people. Three officers responded and they immediately knew who this person was, had arrested him many times and he had never been violent or dangerous. They knew he had a mental illness and would use drugs at times. He was a nuisance and a petty thief but never was a danger to his neighborhood and never known to carry a weapon in multiple arrests.
They rolled up, saw him and called him by name told him to put the gun down and took cover. The suspect was wild out of his head and the officers time and again ordered him to drop the gun. One officer was too his left and the suspect raised his gun and aimed at the officer and another officer fired one round into the suspect. They got to him, cleared the gun and began medical efforts and called an ambulance but he died at the scene.
Turns out the guy had got a bad batch of drugs and was out of his mind. This was the proverbial Otis of the town with mental issues but the drugs sent him over the edge. Half the neighborhood blamed the officer and the other half who saw it blamed the suspect. The officer took months off with PTSD and still suffers from it. None of them wanted to shoot but events left them no choice regardless of the fact of whether the guy was mentally ill or not.
Jeez, a situation where a “social worker” would be an appropriate response. Where is BLM?
i appreciate police- and i don’t envy them their jobs.
I would not want to deal with a mentally ill person having an episode.
I am sure after doing it dozens if not hundreds of times, it gets old.
Even worse when you know that is what you’ll be dealing with in about 2 minutes.
The police officer made a flip remark regarding something she really does not want to deal with. IMHO.
You saw 15 seconds of a much longer video, yet you’re ready to play judge, jury and executioner! I’d say you’re the pathetic one here who doesn’t want to wait for the facts to come out and then think for him or herself. 🤣
