I doubt he has had the nerve to tell her to be quiet for several decades. And you just know the topic of conversation at the funeral, if they got there, was how everyone should be incensed at the way she was treated. “Sure, the mother-in-law is dead, but wait till you hear what happened to ME!”
I just couldn’t decide whether to simply dislike him for being there with her, or pity him for spending his life with her.
I guess dislike and pity work but...he didn’t open his mouth. He looked embarrassed to me.
