I can hear Joe singing that - “la, la, la, la, la, laaaahhh..” in his croaky voice too!

“Well, he plays a pretty mean guitar”

Yes he does, now I need to listen to Walsh and Don Felder on some Eagles tracks.

The guy has the worst voice in rock history.

Nah. Joe Walsh's voice fits for Joe Walsh songs. Bruce Sprungspring is the worst voice in rock history. Sounds like he's gonna pop a gasket while dropping a deuce.

“One of the most overrated bands in my life time”

It’s all a matter of taste (or the lack thereof).

Someone very near and dear to me hates The Beatles, but could listen to Reba McIntire twangily caterwaul all night.

He can do the Yoko parts.

And the Linda McCartney parts too.

Joe Walsh is Ringo’s brother-in-law. The men are married to sisters Barbara and Marjorie.

And both have stayed married to their wives for many years.

And I did a flaming drum solo

We like that about you, gives all of us here some group street cred, the good kind.

As in , we know that guy. No sarc.

Guilty here of enjoying both ( in fact, music-in general. No c Rap, though. Think it’s time to listen to Terence Trent D’Arby, Wishing Well).

**One of the most overrated bands in my life time**

The glorification of musicians has grown massively since electrical amplification of voices and instruments, coupled with wireless communications.

I remember seeing the girls at school and on the school bus raving about these ‘gods’ of music. I couldn’t figure it out. By the time I was 14 I had 7 yrs of farm tractor driving experience (including bulldozer), had learned to fly (a Piper Tri-Pacer), and had built a mini-bike. Other things like horsemanship, racking bales, and working livestock do require skill and toughness as well.

Yet those girls were ga ga over guys I viewed as woosies. And people wonder why there are so many sissified men today. They model themselves after the men in the entertainment and fashion industries.

The Beatles?

You clearly have no clue what you are talking about.

How many Beatles songs do you actually know?

Scold bait thread

I’m old

My mom was right ..two general groups of people

Half full

Half empty

Free Republic 2022 is for sure a half empty mindset forum

Is it because since 2000 the median age is now mid sixties probably and we’re just cranky

For the record ....a great conventional voice is hardly a hard and fast requirement for a rock singer

Bolin did in fact Post Toastie literally

Fairly young and that eerie interview with Carl Hiassen in Miami hours before he overdosed

Only 25

His resumé was strong from James Gang to Billy Cobham to Jan Hammer to Leland Sklar to Deep Purple to Carmen Appice to Alphonse Mouzon

Amazing....he was very popular in the south ....we all had his various outings on vinyl

Man that James Gang Bang album cover would take a hit in woke world wouldn’t it..lol

I lived with a guy in college that was nuts about McCartney and the Beatles, I have heard them all and I think they all suck.

Was it really that cutting edge coming from the 1950’s sound which was much different than the 40’s.

In my view yes. I think the ding chased off the charts in my area was the really hokey “Sugar Shack”. The Beatles were one of the first to use double tracking where Paul or John could harmonize with himself; sounds basic but it wasn’t done much then. Lyrically they were a match for people like Dylan but with much more upbeat rock. They evolved from a simple boy band to a real force in music

In the end it’s a matter of taste but I’m a bit older than rock and roll itself so I’ve seen it from the beginning. They were different.

We knew Tommy Bolin from the “Aquarius” theater, where we played. He played the week right before us.

Our female singer was pregnant when we went in to hear him.

He was loud. She said, “He’s so loud, I think I’m going to go into labor!”
