I know "art experts" look down on his stuff, but I love it.

I have several books of his works, and I especially love his minutia, like woodcut prints of pine forests and his drawings of Italian castle ruins.

He also did cool prints of bacteria to commemerate Van Leeuwenhoek on Dutch currency

His craftsmanship and creative designs have always amazed me.
One must remember, M.C. Escher was before computer graphics, even before most airbrushing technique.
